We went on this cruise with 85 new and old friends. We first started cruising with this group in 1998. Since then the quality of the cruise has gone down a lot! The food and service used to be wonderful. The food on the Carnival Dream was awful. Poorly cooked, never hot and very repetitive. The quality was terrible. We had a balcony suite at the very back of the ship because we were told they were bigger. It was bigger, but it was filthy. Even after they washed it (5 days in) it was still not useable. The furniture and the glass railing weren't washed so we couldn't sit down and see out and enjoy the view.

The wait times in the Dining Room was terrible. We waited one night over 50 minutes between our appetizer and main course so we had to skip the dessert and coffee or we wouldn't have made the show. Most nights the food came lukewarm at best because it sat around waiting to be served to us. Carnival has cut back a lot on the number of wait staff they have.

The cabin was clean, but very dated. The couch was worn and the leather needed washing. The paint was peeling off of the lamps.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View

Cabin 6N

Large cabin with lots of space and good storage units. Very dated though. Had the air conditioning switched off but it never went off. The hair dryer is very hard to use because it's hard wired in and the cord length is very limited. The balcony was not useable because the deck was filthy, as was the furniture and railings. They washed it once and made it worse! Just pooled the muck.

The cabin is right above the Burgundy Lounge and several nights our bed was vibrating with the noise from the music below.

Port Reviews

Roatan

Carnival has a nice port set up and there is a lovely private beach and nature walk. We just found it too hot so returned to the ship early.
