This was one of my favorite cruises I have taken so far but I feel it was due to who I traveled with and not so much the boat. Starting with the cons:
The dining was awful. I'm not sure if the crew was new, unorganized, or just didn't care much. We attempted to have all 18 of us eat together the first night (i realized that was going to be difficult in the first place) We had to wait nearly 1 1/2 hours to eat, so I assumed that we would have one large table, not so. We had 3 tables all in the same dining area, so I am not sure why it took so long. After the first night we decided to just eat in smaller groups and not at the same time. We were sat much quicker this way but it still took a minimum of 2 hours for a table of 6-8 people to eat dinner, continually had to request water or drinks, often had to wait up to 10 minutes for children's drinks to come out. I was hoping that this was because it was the first and second night however it was this way for the entire 8 days.
The water park on the back of the ship was rarely open. My kids were really looking forward to this part of the cruise and we took full advantage of it the first and second day but that was about it. For most of the cruise the slides were closed and we did not get much of a straight answer as to why. I assume it was due to high winds or maybe too much pitching of the ship although the sailing was fairly smooth.
Cabin was nice although the layout was not as well designed as our last Carnival ship, the name escapes me. We have two little children and we had bunk beds for them on our last ship, this cabin had a twin and a trundle that was placed on the floor each evening. This worked well for sleeping although we lost a ton of cabin space because of the floor space that was taken up by the trundle bed.
We did not see our cabin steward much but our room was always well attended to.
