We chose this cruise for the deal we got, and just wanted to try another cruise line. Overall we were not happy with our cruise with Royal Caribbean. I would recommend Carnival over Royal Caribbean. The cabin creaked like an old rocking chair. If you don't drink or gamble there was not much to do as a family. The movies shown on the deck were a very poor choice for a fun cruise, and we couldn't see a bunch of scenes because they were to dark, and the blaring sound from the speakers during the load parts was not very pleasant. The soda beverage package was difficult to use and the soda machines were broken the first day or so, and standing at a bar to get a soda took way to long. After not being able to go to Cocoa Cay because of the rough ocean, it took a while to get the revised schedule and when we did there was not much to do for our family unless you wanted to finger paint or fold towels or get drunk at 9 am. So we sat on the deck and watched our 7 year old play in the hot tubs and the freezing cold pool, and watched stupid YouTube like videos on the big screen, oh and watch them push cart loads of alcohol and soda back and forth in front of us, all while trying to stay warm under a towel. The cleanliness of the ship was not as expected after just coming out of dry dock. We saw workers painting things and wondered why it wasn't done in dry dock. Some of the railing and other things always felt dirty, Carnival was always much cleaner, and well maintained. The Carnival Cruise Director and direct staff, was well seen all over the ship and very energetic and spoke with us personally several times. They even learned our daughters name and made her feel special. I never saw Royal Caribbeans Cruise director other than on stage a few times.

In the Bahamas the excursion was good for the most part but we were rushed out of the shop as they were turning off the lights and rushed over to catch the next to last ferry back to the ship, an hour before we wanted to leave on the last one. We were stopped from getting on the one ferry and told to get on the other one that was just docking, and it took us to the wrong location. The captain had to take just us over to the ship dock. Also no one on the Majesty of the Sea or the excursion people or the ferry crew warned us about buying a conch shell from a local fisherman that docked right beside our ferry and was selling shells for $5. We bought one and than had to throw it in the trash so we could board the ship. Oh and in the children's program they did not do the science experiments like advertised, they just played games and colored. She still had fun but not what was expected. They had also said at the time of booking that someone from the program would come and get our daughter at dinner time to take to the kids program. This never happened. All of this on top of the rough seas and sleepless nights from the creaking and cracking cabin, and thin walls, made this one of our worst cruise vacations ever.

Cabin Review

Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

I don't know what the letter after the "interior Stateroom (K) means but we had an interior Stateroom. It was a pretty average cabin. The first day and night we did not have enough bath towels (2 instead of 3) and there was no soap or tissues in the room.
