This was my 4th cruise (3rd with Royal Caribbean). I sailed Majesty of the Seas about 5 years ago and had a fantastic time. This time was much different. It didn't have that same upbeat energy from the staff. They seemed stressed and worn out. We were ignored multiple times by various bar staff. Skipped over by bar service giving attention to people that came after us many times. We had multiple charges on our bill that we had to dispute because we had an all inclusive drink package the the bar staff charged us full price. On disembarkation day, the guest relations line took more than an HOUR to get through. We almost missed our transport back to the airport because of this. It was by far the worst I've ever experienced. Many, many people had issues on this cruise. I was listening to one complaint after another while in the guest services line.

The best part of the cruise was one of the entertainment staff, Isaac. He was really funny and made up for the fact that we missed one of our ports because of high winds. Others were okay but Isaac's personality stood out the most. The cruise director, Susan, was pretty good, too.

Our waiter in the main dining room was great, but I overheard MANY senior staff talking down to lower ranking wait staff and training/disciplining them in horrible tones within ear shot of guests. I was very disappointed in how they were treating their own staff. I observed this in the Windjammer, too. I feel like that should have been taken behind the scenes. You could tell it affected the staff's attitude, too. Only the people greeting at the doors to the Windjammer really smiled and greeted us. Everyone else just seemed surly.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin I

This cabin was decent. Had a port window with the view of the underside of the rescue boats, but we could still see plenty of water. There were shelves in the closet which were nice. The decor looks dated but this room was kept in relatively good condition. Overall, it was a great room.
