Jewel of the Seas Cruise Review by chocolatemaniac
- Sail Date: February 2018
- Destination: Southern Caribbean
We had paid transfers which made getting to the ship easy and check in was a breeze, no wait time at all for us arriving around 4:00.
The food in the Windjammer was varied and good. We ate breakfast there everyday and they have nice make to order omelets and eggs, any style. We did not eat lunch in the Windjammer until the sea day, as most days we were on shore on excursions. Food in the Main dining room was good. 8:30 seating. We did not eat in the specialty restaurants. Service was great from Head waiter Sheldon, Asst waiter Clebson and asst waitress Romalisa.
We bought the drink package, which I really recommend! Fast easy and even though we were on shore during the day, it paid off for us! Bought it when they were on sale: Buy 1, get 1 half off. Used our ship board credit as well.
Wonderful entertainment in the Centrum... Sonny Duo (guitar/violin) was amazing, 141 band played wide variety of genres. Fun dance competitions with crew/passanger partners. Didn't go to theater shows. Nice to relax by Schooner bar or Centrum bar before dinner.
Shopped a little onboard, ok variety, had some good deals, depends on what you are looking for.
Booked all excursions independently except for St Kitts: KTA4 St Kitts Catamaran Sail and Nevis Beach. This was fun, nice sail and lunch on beach, does not include snorkeling.
Our group of 4 adults all enjoyed massages in the Spa. I had Kate and she gave very firm pressure which was great. I had a facial with Thelma, which was wonderful.
We had a great time and would recommend this ship and itinerary!

Island TourOur group of 4 plus 2 others boarded a nice newer air conditioned van for a tour of the islands. Tour guide/driver Raymond was informative as well as funny. Saw all the major sites like Nelsons Dockyard, Shirley Heights, Falmouth Harbor. Ended up at Jolly Beach for lunch on our own and some beach time.View All 160 Island Tour Reviews
Catamaran TourBeautiful catamarn tour. Crew and captain were amazing! Lots of snacks, drinks, huge tasty lunch included. 2 snorkeling stope - shipwreck and turtles. The crew took lots of pics both onboard and in the water, then emailed us the link for us to download for free. Only about 12 passanagers, so very nice. Highly recommend.View All 94 Catamaran Tour Reviews
Catamaran TourBeautiful catamaran, crew was friendly and attentive. Total of 20 or so on the boat, which was small compared to some of the other boats we saw which had tons of people packed on! Sailed to Nevis island, had lunch on the beach. Time to swim and snorkel from shore (no other snorkel stops). Fun adventure.View All 108 Catamaran Tour Reviews
St. ThomasBeautiful 50ft sailboat, sailed to Buck Island. Hosts were amazing! Wonderful food and plenty to drink. Very nice couple, who actually live on the boat with their 2 kids. Snorkeling by ship wreck was cool. Just our group of on the boat with the crew.View All 12,792 St. Thomas Cruise Port Reviews
