We chose this cruise to get away from a Colorado winter and because we had never been on the Rotterdam. We weren't too picky on which islands we visited. The Rotterdam was in dry dock in October 2017 and we had heard it was in bad shape afterward, but that was not the case in our experience. She's an older ship and doesn't look brand new, but she has aged gracefully.

During the first two-week segment of our Collector's Cruise, there were some excellent entertainers. My favorite, and the only one I remember as I'm writing this a month after returning, was the MacDonald Brothers. They are from Scotland, with heavy accents and excellent singing voices. They played some oldies that most people would know as well as some Scottish tunes (Loch Lomand, Danny Boy). They had the showroom rocking! I bought their CD, and it had a lot of songs on it that they sang in the show.

My only complaint is that there was not much going on for entertainment on some nights and on sea days. I liked when the future cruise directors gave talks about other cruise destinations, with photos. Didn't like when movies were shown at night in the showroom. I did like the way the Sea View Pool area has been changed. It was nice to sit in a shallow pool, then take a break in the hot tub. Read more
