Embarkation: Arrived at the port at around 11:20, and was on by noon. We went to the buffet and found a table. Soon after it got more crowded, so I would recommend the main dining room (MDR) if you are not onboard early.

Room: Soon after arriving to the room, we were greeted by our steward who was friendly. We made some requests including robes and extra bath towels. He said he wasn't sure if there were extra robes but eventually he brought them. The room was a balcony stateroom on Baja. It was in good condition and not as small as I had feared. The bathroom is small like on all ships, but there was plenty of closet, shelving, and under bed storage space. The balcony was spacious and gave a nice view, and I would recommend it for the Panama Canal or Alaska trips or for anyone who wants more space without paying for a mini-suite.

Dining: We ate all dinners in the MDR, all lunches in the buffet, and breakfasts in both places. The MDR food was generally very good. We don't eat meat so we ordered the fish options almost every night. We enjoy eating salads and vegetables, and we realized after a few nights that Princess isn't big on serving large salads, so we requested a "double salad" (which is basically a salad twice as big as normal) and a side of steamed vegetables on most nights after that, which worked very well. Desserts were overall very good. The ice cream selections were always good and interesting. The only desserts I did not like were the passion fruit soufflE and the key lime pie, which did not have any real lime taste. The cheese plates were excellent, if you like cheeses Also, although we were in Anytime dining, after a few nights we found a table and waiter who we liked and who accommodated the above requests, so we asked for that table every night. We usually arrived between 6 and 6:15 so this was not a problem. Lunch in the horizon court was good because there were always a large variety of things to take as much or as little of as I pleased. They had a good salad bar with good lettuce and other things. Often, many of the entrees were the same as what was on the MDR menu, so you didn't feel like you were missing much, although the MDR is quieter and easier to find a table during peak breakfast/lunch hours. The fruit was just ok. They always had pineapple, melon, apples, but never once did they have any type of berries. The MDR did offer papaya at breakfast which was nice. Breakfast was good in both the horizon court and MDR. We chose the MDR for days when we did not have to rush to port for an excursion. It is a calmer and more refined atmosphere and offers a few things the horizon court didn't like papaya, poached eggs, bagels and lox, and more juices. Additionally, the pizzeria was excellent. I would often make a lunch of a slice of pizza from the pizzeria and salads/veggies from the horizon court, because they are right next to each other. There is also soft serve ice cream available in the afternoon, which I thought was very good.

Good location. Not near public areas so quiet.
