Nasty Carrots/Withered Grapes
Nasty Wilted/Rotted Lettuce
How about a bowl so the ice cream doesn't slide off the plate!!
Poor Upkeep!

I am not one to normally pen a review following a bad experience, however after my vacation last week aboard the MS Independence of the Seas, I felt it necessary to voice my concerns. Let me begin by saying that I have cruised fairly regularly since childhood. I have seen numerous changes (some good/some bad) across the board within the cruise industry. I would have to say that Celebrity, up to this point, has been my preferred cruise line, however having children has driven me to consider CCL, NCL, and RCCL over the past several years. This most recent cruise was not chosen because my good friend and colleague and his wife (RCCL Diamond members) had booked this cruise. We had all vacationed together once before and had such an enjoyable time cruising together, we figured we’d join them.

With that said, allow me to detail the events that occurred on our sailing:

• Shortly after departing Port Everglades, my 2 sons and I went up to the FlowRider on Aft, Deck 13. One of my sons noticed a pile of pink emesis (vomit) that was simply roped off in an area directly across from the sign in area. How long it had been there is anyone’s guess, but no one seemed to be attending to it nor was it covered with anything. Considering all the issues you worry about with disease, etc., it surely cannot comply with current health standards aboard cruise ships

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

1700 was a GREAT cabin Location. It was an corner/aft balcony cabin, however much larger. Some people might complain that there was a pole in the middle of the room, but it really was no bother. For having the extra room and bigger balcony, it was worth it. Rumor has it Independence of the Seas is going into Dry Dock soon, and when done, this room is going to be a Junior suite. Not sure if that's true or not, but size wise, it could be!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Compared to Port Canaveral which we cruise out of regularly, Port Everglades was dirty and uninviting. No covered parking. In addition, we left from Terminal 18 and returned at 29. Had to shuttle back to parking lot. Broward Sheriffs were nasty to not only passengers, but even cruise port employees.

Ocho Rios

Hadn't been in a while. Port area was nice. Just ran off the ship to get something. Didn't really tour around.

Labadee

Beach was nice. Stinks there are no frozen drinks on the island except for some pink thing RCCL offers. Can't get a Pina Colada or anything. Our time was cut short due to the Captain wanting to leave early. Called everyone back on Board at 1p. We were out by 2:15rp (instead of 5 which was scheduled.
