Flew down to Ft Lauderdale from Buffalo on Southwest which we love as they have great flight prices and 2 free bags allowance. Stayed in Ft Lauderdale at the Days Inn Airport Cruise Port, lots of bad reviews on this hotel so we were very nervous to stay there as we were with 8 and had 3 rooms. Son, DIL, Grandson.. Son & DIL.. Hubby, Son & myself. Hotel was just fine, nothing fancy, could use some updating, but rooms were clean, beds & pillows clean & comfy, and the price was great! Front desk staff were amazing and very helpful, and they had a free shuttle for pickups which was a bonus, Oh and free small breakfast.

Arrived at Miami Port by private shuttle to board the Equinox at 10am, check in as wonderful and we all were about the 20th people in line so there was no issue for waiting with a 2yr old. Waited about 45 min before they allowed us to board the ship and that was nice & smooth! Headed straight for the buffet for some lunch, then explored the ship, and guest relations and then by 1pm our rooms were ready so we headed for them 9282, 9287 & 9286, our luggage was already there waiting for us! We then headed up to the Sunset Bar to get some drinks and enjoy the nice Grass space with our grandson to get some energy out. Soon after we headed to the life jacket drill video which we felt was really cute, and then headed back to the Sunset Bar for Sail Away!

This cruise line is truly geared for the 50-90 yrs age group. Our children who are in their late 20's to early 30's enjoyed the ship, except they felt the music was too old and that disappointed them. When they requested more modern music from the DJ they were told that they were not allowed to play any of their dance music, and that they thought wasn't fair, especially in the main disco in the Sky Lounge where all the action was late at night. Also everywhere you went they played the Same music, same songs all the time, that was a little bit annoying. But all in all, we totally enjoyed our family cruise, drinks flowed sweetly as we all had the beverage package and some in the group upgraded to premium the first or second day we boarded. There were maybe 15 kids on the whole ship, and you wouldn't have even noticed any, but because we had a little with us, we looked for others. We never used the Kids Club since ours was too young.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 1B

Cabin 1B

Our stateroom attendant was Lezardo was Excellent! We had 3 in our cabin and he made up the couch as a single to sleep on and it was very comfortable! Nice fluffy pillows, and cozy comforter. Lots of storage space and I love the extra on top of the bed! Lay out was nice, the only issue we felt was that there wasn't enough plugs for our phones, and no plug in bathroom for our sons clipper to trim his beard. Would have been nice to have one by the bedside tables for our phones to charge at night!
