We chose this cruise, purely on the basis of the itinerary and we were not disappointed. Having cruised the Caribbean twice before this cruise took us to 6 ports not previously visited and we were looking forward in particular to the Dutch Antilles. We had also previously been on this ship when it was owned by RCL and so knew what to expect in terms of cabins, layout etc. yes Discovery is an older ship but the staff work tirelessly to keep it clean, even cleaning the balcony glass daily !
Highlights - Seemless outbound journey from airport to ship -didn't have to reclaim luggage and straight off the plane into minibuses and on the ship within the hour. We took a change of clothes in our hand luggage although the cases were delivered a short time later. Wandered around and took in a couple of cocktails before the muster drill.
We fell in love with Bonnaire, having taken an island tour from one of the dockside companies - 2.5 hours and cost just $20 each...absolute treat and we look forward to having a holiday there in the future.
We pre booked this cabin as we wanted to be on the back of the ship. The balconies are substantially larger plus it has a partially covered area, 2 sun beds, table and 2 chairs....can't beat breakfast or a nightcap on your balcony !
The cabin is well equipped, clarins toiletries, a large bath with shower over as well as full tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a Lavazza expresso maker but it's really not needed and just takes up room on the dressing table and with hinsight we should of asked them to move it out.
Nice layout, really quiet, kept spotlessly clean even the glass doors and balcony were cleaned daily.
