We chose this cruise for the Brazilian ports, especially Rio De Janeiro and the timing with Carnival. The onboard speakers, especially Mickey Live greatly enhance the experience you are going to have ashore. We had trouble with embarkation as we were on an Enrichment Journey, land tour of Buenos Aires and flight to and from Iguazu Falls before getting on the ship on Feb. 4th. We arrived at the terminal in Buenos Aires after Celebrity and local customs staff had left for the day, about 6pm so there was much confusion as to how to handle our luggage and the check in process. The next morning we needed to take a bus back to the terminal to complete the check in process. This was after we had to handle our luggage onto the bus and onto the ship the night before. After that, things went much more smoothly as expected. We had a suite so usually ate in Luminae where the service and food were very good. The ship is showing its age in places, wood that needs refinishing, rust in spots but otherwise is being well maintained by cleaning staff. We felt very safe using the excursion from the ship to go to Carnival, with our bus dropping us very near our entrance and people directing us to our seats and back onto the bus when leaving. Our suite was very nice and roomy although we had smokers next door who was had to report as we could smell it at various times of the day and night. This was dealt with as smokers can be fined $150 for smoking in their rooms! I Made was our butler who did a fine job caring for our needs, as well as our cabin attendant who called in for minor adjustments like slow drains. We liked the entertainment, especially Jayne Curry who we've seen a few times before. The production shows are always fun even though we've seen them before. We enjoy meeting interesting people from around the world and look forward to more cruise and land adventures.
Clean and roomy, with adequate storage.
Took Uber with a couple from our Enrichment Journey group to the coffee museum, then took town trolley, explored a bit more.
with Sugar Loaf and day before was Christ the Redeemer statue
Did a bike tour booked on our own, since we'd walked some of the city before. Took cab out to Casapueblo which was well worth the trip to explore this Gaudi style hotel and work room with great views.
Walked the city as we'd been here before. Local markets and food vendors busy with lots of grilling meat smells. Street entertainers too.
