Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Review by artnuvo
- Sail Date: February 2018
- Destination: Western Caribbean
Our Silhouette table 551,i mid ship, 4th floor, served by noval, putu, and jasminka as a wine steward provided excellent and efficient service with a smile. Ecelpt for the 3rd and 4th days when the menu in my view was stodgy and almost made us defer to the bufu for better choices, food service was consistently good.
Celebrity would do well to have several substantive seminars aboard as happened last year with a scientist who was well versed on space exploration. It also might be nice if the sound level at the pool was toned down a few notches.
The entertainment on Eclipse was far superior to that on Silhouette. Productions seem more updated and livelier.
The Silhouette magician became repetitive with too many card trciks so we left that show early; the acrobats were excellent.
As we have been to all ports on prior sailings, we typcially went to a nearby beach on a port day, with one exception. In Cozumel,we did an intersxting excrusion and swam with stingrays. This required a 10 minute walk in port to a bus location, 20 minute bus ride to a port debarkation point, and 30 minute ride to a reef where we left the boat and swam with the stingrays for about 1 hour and 15minutes. The transport modes and time was not spelled out in the excursion listing and ,for transparency, these details should have been provided.
The fitness machines on Silhouette were not as modern and recent as those on Eclipse and lacked separate hand controls for incline and speed.
Debarkation in Ft Lauderdale was chatic and needs to be improved. Unlike Miame where we deboarded Eclipse, there were long lines at ft l to reach customs.
Celebrity neglected to advise that those with global entry access that they may need there global entry card for express checkout line as ft l does not have a computer checkout like the airports. Two customs reps told us we needed the cards but chekout did nt require them.
