Cruise was good for the price. Embarkation and Disembarkation was good, friendly people in security which always makes me feel better. Too bad you're not allowed to take pics, I would love to get a pic of all the food they were loading on board! lol Didn't take too long to get through but I don't know why they don't have air conditioning in that building! I was able to skip some of the embarkation pics they usually make people get, which was good because after traveling and being sweaty and tired I don't feel like pictures right away.

As mentioned rooms aren't ready until 1330 so it's good to bring a change of clothes if you want to wear a swimsuit or something. I was able to find a quiet bathroom and freshen up then lay in the sun. Heads up about laying on the chairs under the funnel of the ship while it is in port; I was there and noticed a few black things on me and flying around, also a few drops of water. I couldn't figure out what was going on. I realized after the black things weren't bugs but bits of soot from the stack and I guess drops of water. I suppose that's why nobody else was in that area? Lesson learned. Mandatory safety information session was inside the lounge which was better than having to stand in the hallway like before.

There was only one pool and 4 hot tubs. Somewhat disappointing because every single day the hot tubs were packed full and, I could be mistaken, but it seemed like the same groups all the time. Evenings were difficult to get a spot too until it was getting late. I found the pool a bit chilly to get in. Was also a bit different that the life boats were outside the top rail behind the deck loungers. I only went on one Carnival ship before so I don't know if many are like it but the other ship had the lifeboats down lower. These blocked some of the view and I thought kind of ruined the atmosphere. I could smell a little odor of fuel in that area I think. Also, kind of disappointed that there were none of the sun loungers with the little roof over them like on other ships.

Cabin Review

Porthole

Cabin PT

I really liked this cabin. It was near the front of the ship so there was only another room on one side of me which meant not much noise from other guests/entertainment. However, there was a housekeeping storage room right outside my door which was a bit noisy when they were cleaning but it wasn't too bad. But boy! When we were pulling into port, my cabin sounded like it was INSIDE the engine; what a racket but it helped get me out of bed lol. Also, the washroom counter was smaller in this cabin than another I was in once and it seemed that I could feel the motion of the ship a little more but I didn't mind. Such a bonus that the safe is much bigger and password protected now instead of having to use your credit card!! Comfy soft bed and liked the reading lights on the headboard. Nice flat screen t.v. and big closets. The porthole area is also useful for storing items or to sit on sometimes.

Port Reviews

Jacksonville

Not fond of Jax, sorry, probably because I'm not great at directions! Also the motel I was in sucked. Thankfully the weather was nice. From things people told me I was afraid to go anywhere alone because of the crime. I did walk around River City Marketplace, which was bigger than I thought. The Z-trip took so long to arrive the first time I called it, nearly an hour and the second time I waited nearly 2 freaking hours!!! Two hours!! I ended up cancelling it and walked. If I get charged for that anyhow I will NOT be happy. The Jacksonville Zoo was great, however, it seems I'm not the only one bad at directions because nobody there that I asked knew how to get to the bus stop. Also at a gas station the guy told me the wrong bus stop. Eventually I found my way back, what a day. Phew.
