I took this cruise to be with my sister who had signed up for it. This was the first large ship cruise for my husband and I. We arrived a few days early to do some birding on Merritt Island and tour Cape Canaveral.
We arrived at Port Canaveral in our rental car. The Royal Caribbean web site gave good directions to port B but failed to provide directions once you enter the port area. We were so confused that we had to park and call Royal Caribbean in an attempt to get directions. Finally we saw a port employee who kindly directed us to the correct entrance. This was not a good start for our cruise.
Getting on the ship we were directed to a desk where the woman behind the counter asked for our ID and Sea Pass. When handed the Sea passes my husband said to her his pass was folded to display the bar code. She didn’t unfold it, but rather looked at mine and told me it wasn’t the sea pass even thought it clearly said Sea Pass on the top. She pointed out it was just for luggage. This caused a lot of stress for us. She finally unfolded my husband’s pass and, it turned out that was what she was looking for. I fault Royal Caribean for having a form that says “Sea Pass” in large letters at the top and luggage on the bottom. I also fault this employee for not looking at all the paper work we provided before telling us we don’t have our Sea Pass.
The cabin was larger than we expected. The bathroom was too. The bed was comfortable. We didn’t spend much time on the balcony due to high winds. In Jamaica they pressure washed the balcony. After they do this check the the partition between balcony’s is secured. Our wasn’t and I had to hear it banging all night that night. When I called the next morning they came and fixed it right away.
Yoleny, our steward, was great.
We liked that there were local crafts to buy.
