WEAKEST on the Riveria was Destination Services! The staff seemed very DISORGANIZED in getting guests off the ship in a timely manner and the logistics of just getting to the activity destination were MUCH LONGER than expected or stated. For instance, boat tender to Harvest Caye, Belize was an hour, the bus ride to the activity was another hour and the activity was under an hour. NO LUNCH was provided and the return to the ship was even longer. Day started at 8:15 am and return to ship was 4pm. Cash was needed for certain activities to store items in lockers and purchase water shoes which was not known ahead of time. Key West FURY SNORKELING - DO NOT SIGN UP- THE WORST! This trip is MIXED with guests from other cruise ships as well as public paying customers. I called Riveria Destination Services ahead of time to find out the number of guests signed up and was told 37 and I was NEVER TOLD that the activity was NOT EXCLUSIVE to Oceania. There were around 90 passengers or more and with unruly children. Public paying customers were charged $50 vs $119 Oceania. Fury catamaran is NOT SAILING - motor used the entire time and the snorkeling was a joke. VERY LOUD MUSIC and BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT for it was the last port of the cruise and majority of the Oceania guest were in shock that Oceania offered such duped excursion.
I did file a complaint with Destination Services but only received a standard reply that stated sorry for your disappointment. For me, Oceania’s pride in excellence and service were lowered after this experience.
Suggestion >> ask some specific questions before signing up for any shore excursion for the description is LACKING much needed information.
The room was very spacious around 420 sf. There was walk in closet and separate shower and tub. Plenty of storage for 10 day cruise. The bed and linens were very comfortabe and the room was clean.
