We chose carnival because of all the family activities available. It was so much fun. Our kids loved camp carnival. We all enjoyed the movies on deck. The PG comedy was great and after the kids went to bed the R rated comedy was hysterical.
Our embarkation did not go great due to weather. Galveston port was closed due fog so times got pushed back to the point where they just opened it up as a free for all boarding. Hours waiting in line, hungry kids and then sitting through the muster station presentation before getting to go eat made for a really long first day. We all went to bed early thinking we had made a huge mistake. Luckily the next day and every day after that proved we had made the right decision.
Our balcony cabin was perfect for the 4 of us. Our son loved his bunk that dropped down from the ceiling. For quiet times it was great to sit out on the balcony and watch the world sail past.

plenty of space for all our stuff. the staff are amazing. we chose morning service only but the day we ended up snoozing they came in late and did a turn down service and replaced towels. great service!

we had booked a snorkling excursion but not through carnival. we were late getting into port so missed this excursion. dissappointing but we went exploring and had lots of fun trying conch fritters and finding unique things to buy.
