Wanted to do this itinerary again with our grandkids and had a great time years ago on the Freedom. Was a little leery trying Galveston port and want very impressed by it but embarkation was easy and staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived and our steward,Ivan, greeted us. We needed the beds set up differently and by the time we returned from touring the ship and having lunch everything was taken care of. We easily changed our assigned dining to anytime dining to make it easier with the Teen clubs schedule since we had our grandkids with us. Food and service in the Chic dining room was always great and the staff friendly and always addressed us by name even when we had different servers each night. We also enjoyed visiting the various lounges each night for entertainment. Most especially enjoyed the piano bar with Roddy? And also karaoke. Was often hilarious. Most of all the two teen clubs were fantastic. Our grandkids met so many friends and talked about the great activities and were so excited to spend time there we had to beg to get some time with them. Also there were always kids they knew it hang out with even during shore excursions. The CD Malcolm was personable and approachable and seemed to be everywhere in the middle of the fun. We loved the late night lido dance parties.

We all had an excellent time

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite
Cabin OS 7258 comfor

Comfortable for two teenagers, my husband and myself. The balcony was great for relaxing. The bathroom was perfect with double sinks and jaccuzi tub. The midshipmen location was perfect fir us

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Quite a distance from airports to terminal and costly especially for the Carnival shuttle. Obviously a working port and not convenient for preboarding shopping for toiletries and supplies that are hard to bring when flying.

Easy taxi ride. Clean resort and restrooms. Great water park for grandkids. Good food and drinks all day. Waitvstaff very friendly and attentive. Comfortable shaded tables and beach lounges. Good swimming in ocean and pools.

Guided Tour of site was informative and paced well for family groups. Transportation by bus was good and tour guide "Maude" was friendly and knowledgeable. The river Wallace and seeing all the native animals was spectacular. Howler monkeys crocodiles all kinds of birds manatees and even jumping fish!

Maya keys was very nice. Snorkeling was good for family groups beach was clean and plant of sun and shade lounge chairs. Pool was small but nice. Lunch was good and drinks moderately expensive. Rescued animals write interesting and appeared well cared for. Hiking paths were good and not too rigorous for families of several generations. I think that sending us back to ship so early was wrong for the price we should have been allowed to stay longer.
