We had an excellent cruise on the Reflection last year and this one was certainly a notch below. It led me to wonder if this was a training trip for Celebrity employees. The first night I placed a room service order for breakfast. Although we paid extra for concierge class which was suppose to provide us with an extended menu, this was not the case. To add insult to injury, I had to call room service when our breakfast had not arrived more than a half hour late. Eventually 9:30 breakfast arrived around 10:40 Since breakfast was nothing special, the next day I just ordered a pot of coffee; it never arrived. Later I found that the cabin had been stocked with the standard menus instead of concierge ones which provided a much nicer selection. My last four breakfasts arrived on time and were hot, including the orange juice.

Dinners in the MDR were, for the most part nice, but on one occasion I had to reorder my french onion soup TWICE because it was not hot and on another, the lamb chops I ordered medium arrived rare and were sent back and the new ones arrived well done! The cream of mushroom soup I ordered was more of a watery purée and not the least bit creamy. The chocolate cake that we ordered on the Reflection was excellent, Equinox's version was more of a dense brownie concoction. The crème brulee was very good so I stuck with that for the remainder of the trip.

I traveled with my wife an four others who had better luck with their dinners though there were a few disappointments and very few oohs and ahs. However one had ordered the escargot and spent the remainder of the night and part of the next day in his room. I spoke with another passenger who had a similar though less severe experience.
