Needed a short getaway from our cold weather, and really enjoyed this Western Caribbean itinerary. We experienced Chef's Table for the first time, an HIGHLY recommend it to anyone that would enjoy a unique on-board dining adventure. It included a working kitchen tour, interaction with the Matre' d and Exectutive Chef, exclusive appetizers and courses, and numerous paired wines. All served to a small group (4-5 couples) in a unique dining location in the Allegro Dining Room. Otherwise, the service and food was excellent, and there was always something to do! We had an aft cabin on Marina (deck 15), which we really liked. Did not experience any noise or disturbance being right below the Horizon Court, and were convenient to that dining area as well as the Fitness Center and pools. This was our first cruise at the Platinum level, and expedited boarding had us on the gangway boarding before 11:30 a.m. on Embarkation Day. Our room was ready as soon as we boarded, even though we were prepared for a slight wait.

Great time on the Regal Princess!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony
Cabin DC M619
Good location on Deck 15 near the aft stairs and elevators, allowing easy walking access to Horizon Court buffet, Fitness Center, and pools. Being directly below Horizon Court, we did not experience any noise or disturbances. However, there is an overhang above the balconies in this area of the Marina deck that slightly limits the upward view. Didn't find it to be any issue for us, and didn't obstruct the outward view at all. The laundry was also very close by, but we didn't use it. There were two standard U.S. electrical outlets at the desk area.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Cozumel
Walked from the pier into town. This is a good long walk, and we took a cab back from town for the return. We found some nice shops with local rum cake and souvenirs, and ended up searching out a place for lunch. We found that the local restaurants could be a little aggressive trying to pull you in, and most prices were in pesos. Buyer beware! Know the exchange rate you are willing to accept, as there is quite a range used.

  • Falmouth
We visited the shops inside the secure area of the immediate dock where the ship was. There were some local crafters, and some nice shops focused on Jamaican produced goods. Found that all the vendors were friendly and experienced no aggressive sales tactics while there.

  • Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
The Regal Princess was moored at Pier 2 in Port Everglades. This is a convenient location for embarking, as most other piers have additional security for vehicles and shuttles, and can add some delay to arriving at the terminal.

  • Submarine Tour
We really enjoyed the submarine tour experience. Went down about 100 feet, which allowed good views of coral reef marine life. The crew was very friendly and informative, and the equipment appeared very well maintained. After we returned from the excursion we explored some of the shops along the pier area where the tenders disembarked. Nothing special was found there, and we opted to return to the ship fairly quickly.
