We booked this cruise line on the expectation of a beautiful, new ship and the level a service and attention that we experienced on Regent in past years. Wife needed a wheelchair when we boarded, which was available once we were on the ship. BUT, I was carrying three heavy bags and no one came to help. I had to drag the bags down to the lower level floor for safe keeping, When the room was ready, I had to demand help with those three bags., Bad start. ChampaGNE bottle was in a bucket in the room. but disappeared later on. Crew was generally pleasant, but appeared inexperienced.
We enjoy a little caviar before dinner, or at the pool deck, but were advised that it was not available. Specialty restaurants are available one time, unless you have a pentouse room, etc. Towards the end of the cruise, when everyone had been to the special restaurants, we inquired about availability for two. The desk clerk first asked us for our room number, and then advised us there were no available tables...Felt like a peasant at a daily room rate well in excess of $1,000!!!
Beautiful ship, but not worth the price, unless you can go for the penthouse level rooms.
Did not compare to the better exoerience we had recently on a Seabourn ship at a much lesser daily rate.
We were not alone in our evaluation of the value of the cruise. Perhaps things will improve, but we do not intend to return to Regent.
