I didn't choose the cruise - a friend had already chosen it and asked me to come. After leaving Melbourne we had so many activities to choose from each day we had to choose carefully to fit them all in. At night the entertainment was spectacular. We were prepared to skip dinner if necessary rather than miss one.
On shore we selected tours if Hop On buses were not available. We saw dolphins, fur seals and the smallest penguins around Akaroa. Bus tours to picture postcard perfect bays, shuttle buses taking us from port to town where necessary.
We were disappointed not to be able to fit in a visit to Christchurch and sorry the ship did not call at Auckland, but we did see a wonderful Maori village and Princess provided lots of information sessions aboard ship prior to our arrival. It was a wonderful cruise and we would do it again in a heartbeat.
Our cabin had everything we needed - plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. We spent very little time in there because there was so much to do and see. Having a balcony was a plus - especially in the morning and evening where we could watch the sun rise and set.
We used the iSite centre and used a Hop On Hop Off bus to see the city.
