First the positives. We enjoyed the Dreamliner flights (premium cabin), the transfers to and from the boat, the food, our cabin steward Raymond, our cabin and balcony, the food, the art talks, the black tie nights, the warm sunshine in Jan/ Feb, the fact that we could take alcohol on board and did I mention the food?
We did not enjoy the 'holiday camp' aspects, the confusing design of the boat, the terrible signposting, the attitude of the ladies on the excursion desk, the extortionate prices of the excursions, the expensive drinks, the 'shop, shop, shop' focus from P&O, the attitude of some of the people on reception, the very variable service at meals, the very ordinary atrium, the chronic lack of deck space for sunbathing.
The entertainment was ok, lots of energy, enthusiasm and volume, but very little to remember. One 'comedian' Peter Pepper was just a pub or holiday camp stand up and not P&O standard.
Comfortable, reasonably well appointed, very clean, when we needed maintenance our steward arranged for it, great sea views but much too far back in the boat.
