This cruise was selected because of taking a group of seniors there was no need for passports or visas. The ports were interesting,Embarkation was efficient and quick and our luggage arrived in our cabin promptly. The availability of information on board was limited to the daily paper and spasmodic PA announcements, the mid-day weather reports were given sometimes.

the ship was well maintained and clean and all the usual safety measures implemented tender to shore very efficient. My main area of complaint was the dining room and food quality and service. The Tsar Palace is a very attractive dining venue, the quality of the food and presentation and service was extremely bad.The menu was poor as was the quality of food...not fit for a Tsar and not even for its prisoners, two meals were returned as not edible by my wife who is not a fussy eater. To have our orders taken we had to ask then wait and wait to finally be presented with a cold meal and with the presentation of a cafeteria ,and its taste would make the cafeteria food Michelin class.I don't think it was the waiters fault as they were in complete confusion with supervisors about every where ,pulling waiters off tables and achieving nothing this was the norm for the rest of the cruise .The specialty restaurants were good the service and quality were excellent..perhaps Norwegian wanted all the main restaurant passengers to eat at the specialty venues (cover charge of course)

Summing up a very ordinary cruise one would have expected more from a line breaking into the Australian Market it felt that an old ship with poor service and food would be good enough..but the Australian cruising scene is probably one of the most discerning due to the number of Lines coming here and offering far more.Would I cruise Norwegian again..I think not unless there is a radical shift in its service and food.

Cabin Review

Cabin BB

cabin was clean and comfortable, the settee had seen better days. The cabin room was tight but acceptable, the cabin has its own coffee/tea making machine..at least you can make an acceptable cup of coffee or tea,,,coffee on board was weak and tasteless, bed was comfortable and bathroom with separated toilet and shower good Our cabin steward Louie was great as was the majority of all the staff on board
