Sail Date: Feb 2017

We chose this cruise because we liked the itinerary so we could visit Malta, Corsica, Sardinia, Tunis, and Algiers which are not normal destinations for cruises. We also wanted to sail with Viking ocean to compare it to our other luxury cruises. It was superb. The common space is separated by glass partitions to provide a sense of privacy but with an open feeling--definitely not a cave. The use of light colors in the decor gave a lofty feeling, the multiple textures including the caribou furs in the upper most lounge made it feel nordic, the 2-story video wall with Grieg's background music was mesmerizing. The food was delicious and beautifully presented with an attentive wine steward and wait staff. There were many tables for two for romance, but close enough together so as to be able to strike up lively conversations with your neighbor. We have travelled on many cruises, on many lines, and many luxury lines, but this was the BEST. Even the rain we experienced during this February voyage was ethereal. I loved having a FREE cruise ship excursion in every port even though we often chose a different one. The cruise and ship and personnel were amazing and Viking has set a new (high) standard for cruising. Bravo!
