We have enjoyed Viking river cruises and wanted to try one of their ocean ships. We absolutely loved every thing about it, even though our itinerary had to change due to circumstances beyond Viking's control. We had no complaints whatsoever. Have already booked another Viking ocean cruise.

The food was excellent and we enjoyed the variety of it. Staff was wonderful. Drink prices were reasonable. Tours were good (both included ones and optional). Perhaps the only negative might be that some of the included tours conflicted with the optional ones, so we couldn't do both in specific ports.

Public areas were extremely comfortable. Entertainment was exceptional. We have been on over 40 cruises and the Viking Star has become a favorite. We understand that all Viking ocean-going ships are identical, so we look forward to sailing again on one of them. While we got good pricing on airfare for this cruise, our next one is not so good. We hope that we can get better pricing either through Viking or independently for it.
