I picked Viking because I have looked at the brochures for years, but never planned what to do. I originally thought river boat cruise. Then the ocean cruise was the journey I wanted to the Southern Mediterranean. This was my first cruise as a widow of two years.
The Viking Star was absolutely beautiful and the ambiance everywhere on the ship was amazing. The crew was so attentive everywhere on the ship. Dining was available for whatever you wanted. The food at each restaurant was tops. My stateroom with veranda was so comfortable and had everything I needed. The choices of shore excursions at each port were extensive. Anything you wanted to see was available. The tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and personable.
I met some really nice travelers, and made friends with two ladies that were so fun and easy going. Everybody on this ship was friendly. The amenities were top notch. The heated bathroom floors awesome. The ship was so clean always. The spa was beautiful and serene. The Wintergarden was so wonderful at afternoon teas. So many entertainment choices.
Cabin Review
The room with the veranda was spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable cruise. The veranda was perfect to experience the sunsets. Comfortable bed, and beautiful bathroom with amenities. The heated floor was awesome! The closet was large with a robe and slippers, as well as an umbrella if needed. The desk had binoculars to use, if needed.
24 hour room service was wonderful, and I did use it several times.
The refrigerator was refilled with items as I needed and requested. The coffeemaker was really great in the mornings.
I slept very well.
