Embarkation was extremely smooth, disembarkation was "OK". MSC sails in/out of Miami and we find sailing in/out of Ft Lauderdale easier and much more user friendly. .A previous post stated "food at the buffet was the same every day. Ya...it was, but the variety and selection was so great, there was nothing else they could have added. Much, much more inclusive than the cruise we took 2 weeks prior on an other line. (I'll mention that fact later on regarding other topics) The best pizza and pasta on any cruise I've been on, and that's now over 100. Shows were very "Las Vegas review/cirque de soliel-ish. No comedians, no jugglers. Synchronized high tech VERY professional lighting added to the enjoyment. 3 Pools..one similar to those on most other ships, one under a retractable dome, one in the rear an adult only infinity pool. One thing I liked was that recorded musci around the ool area was "background" music and pretty much 70's-90's classic rock. On the ship we were on 2 weeks prior it was techo/rap that was SOOOO loud, you had to SCREAM at the person sitting next to you!. Needless to say, we found loungers elsewhere, albeit not very convenient to quick dips in the pool. Even after several guests asked for the volume to be lowered....it wasn't. MDR dining was good, pretty much comparable to most other lines. MDR service for us anyway was very good, but I heard from staff it was spotty as they took a lot of experienced staff and put them on their newer ship, the "Seaside". It will take a while to get everyone up to speed (or so I was told). Cabin (standard balcony) was nice. We were on a cruise 2 weeks prior on an other line and had a suite. The Divina cabin was pretty much identical to the suite on the other line/ship, the balcony was larger and we paid a lot less. The only difference I could see was that on the ship with the suite, we had a tub and not just a shower, but for almost $1K pp difference, I could live with just a shower! Yes,there were "foreigners" on the cruise..... about 20% .If you don't want to encounter people who speak a different language.....don't travel! However, there were not a lot of announcements on the ship (A lot less than on others we've been on) so that was not an issue. More children than I expected for a 10 day cruise not during school break, probably because pricing for kids is so attractive. Public rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. We never felt crowded, anywhere. . We did not take any ship's tours. They were a bit pricey (we thought) and as is the same with most other lines, a very similar tour can be gotten on the pier for about 1/2 the price. As I mentioned earlier, I've been on well over 100 cruises now. I'm "Elite" on one line, "4 Star Mariner" on another and "Diamond" on another. I was impressed with MSC and will sail with them again! And by the way, MSC will match the highest repeaters level you are on any line with thier comparable level category. Extra perks MSC offers were VERY nice, like a bottle of Prosecco and chocolate covered strawberries in your cabin on formal night and a sur- charge restaurant dinner for 2. Also thier internet package is a fraction of the cost it is on some other lines. I think it was something like $20 for the cruise (no time limit) and the cruise we were on prior on a different line, although we got 250 comp'd minutes, if you bought the internet package, it was over $100. Seems to me, that with free Wifi in every port, these cruise lines have to rethink their internet charges. There were some things I think MSC did better than on some other lines as they are anxious to develop a following and they are one of the few lines that's not part of the "Carnival Corporation" which seems to have homogenized most of thier lines into a "sameness". I was impressed and WILL be sailing with MSC in the future!

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

Nice cabin! We were on another ship/line 2 weeks prior. On that ship we had a suite. On the Divina a standard balcony. The cabins were pretty much identical and on the Divina the balcony was larger. We paid almost 2X more for the "other" cruise and pretty much the only difference was that we had a tub bath, not just a shower.
