We were quite unsure what to expect since it was our very first cruise and had heard and read the gamut of positive & negative reviews and feedback from friends and other cruisers. This was without a doubt an enjoyable experience from the Embarkation process to almost the end when we had to disembark. I must admit that there is more that can be done to ensure a smooth exit. However, that did not take away from the exemplary service from servers, attendants and entertainment staff. Most of the staff recognized us and we were constantly warmly greeted and felt genuinely appreciated. Due to rough seas we were able to make it into one port but still found loads of activities to get into onboard. Really wished the time allotted for port visits was longer since a considerable amount of the time was spent checking IDs and waiting in long lines to go ashore. I understand security concerns but this could be remedied with more personnel. Our travel agent recommended midship on the 11th deck and it was awesome, we didn't feel the impact of swaying too much. The French Bistro was the stand out specialty dining restaurant for us and we ended up going twice. We did not travel with children so cannot comment on kids activities. The entertainment ( musical & hypnotist), was not spectacular but it was a solid 8 for us. All in All we thoroughly enjoyed this little sea adventure and can't wait for the next!
Great attentive service from Marvin our room attendant. Room always kept tidy with fresh towels. Warm personable service from Marvin, he was a true delight. We miss the towels shaped like animals :) He was never intrusive and offered ready replies to our frequent questions since it was our first cruise.
We were meeting family, so we did not opt for an excursion at this port, however it is very beautiful.
We live in NY.
