This was our third winter cruise on the Silhouette. We flew to Ft Lauderdale the day before just in case of inclement weather. A taxi from the hotel to the port was very easy unlike the shuttles we had taken in previous years.
Embarkation was smooth. The line for Elite passengers was long but we have found this to happen on winter Florida cruises. We were on the ship before noon and the rooms were ready by 1 pm. We had a veranda cabin on deck 7 close to the Hideaway. They have a coffee machine in the Hideaway so if you are looking for coffee after 7am it’s and easy trip. We love to have our coffee on the veranda in the morning.
The cabin was comfortable as usual and had lots of storage space. Our cabin steward Efram was very good and quickly caught on to our routines. . Our February cruise is always just a get away, to rest and relax..so we kept a very quiet schedule. I took the 6 night specialty dinner package and was a little disappointed with that. I had not realized when I purchased it that I could not make advanced dinner reservations with it. Those who didn’t have it were able to make advanced reservations for Valentines Day. I really don’t think it was fair. I never thought it would be a problem until I tried to make reservations. Murano and the Tuscan Grille were booked solid, as was the Lawn Club Grille . We ended up at Quisine, not my favorite at all. I was very disappointed. It took 3different attempts to try an book our dinner. I was finally referred to Carmen from Peru at the Tuscan Grille , and she was able to help me book the 6 dinners with much effort but I had to make some compromises. Murano and the Tuscan Grille were both excellent. The service was fantastic and the meal delicious. The Filet Mignon in the Tuscan was “melt in your mouth “tender and delicious.
Great cabin, quiet, clean, lots of storage, great shower
