The food was terrible. Only the fruit, omelets, and breads were very good. The dining room service was below expectations. Most of the time my food arrived cold. I tried the scrambled eggs at the buffet and they were nasty, not bland, nasty.
I never thought I'd hear myself this, they over poor on the liquor and it made some cocktails undrinkable. Just thing about trying to drink at your normal pace and drinking doubles or triples. When you ask for rum and coke and get 90% rum what do you do? I got tired of ordering an extra coke to go along with my drink and just started pouring them out and ordering again. Even when I told them only two fingers, they would over poor.
This is our third time to the Bahamas and it seems that nothing has changed with the ports except the devastation from the storms.
Cabin was so small that we needed to separate the beds so we could get into bed easily. Cabin steward excellent, friendly and attentive.
We took a taxi to Freeport. Driver was friendly and talkative.
We took a taxi back to the ship and were scared half to death with the condition of the taxi, no A/C, no seat belts, brakes squealed, and muffler must have been about to fall apart. Driver did not stop at one stop sign. Driver hardly said a word.
First time we have been here since all of the upgrades. Much better experience. Food was still pretty bad. We were there at low tide so snorkeling was problematic. I scraped my elbow on a rock and got ring worm.
Nassau isn't too bad to visit. Don't buy stuff from the straw market until you check out the storefronts. Some stores have better prices. Straw marked doesn't have prices displayed and you need to haggle to get a decent price. Senior Frogs was closed until the afternoon so we went back to the ship for lunch.
