My husband researched much data before choosing your cruise. In a word, "Fantastic". Nico, the pianist, help Jim practice for the song he wanted to sing to the assembled group on Captain's night. George and his porter friend, made SWANs in celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Swans were double facing and made from towels, with glitter saying "59", laying on our bed. We loved it. Having daily newsletters really were very well done and informative.
Both Embarkation and Disembarkation were done so well one barely knew what was going on. The local tour guides were the best informed and willing to share knowledge of their home areas with us. The waiters were so good and some were even fun. If you had silverware, etc. out of line, they quietly corrected this error. We got a kick out of that. Thank you for a great first time river boat experience.
After we returned to our stateroom, our porters had "concocted", from white towels, two swans necking, with a rose, and glitter with "50". We were so touched by all of this.
Embarkation and disembarkation were both thoroughly accomplished. Our ship was neat and clean and when supplies were needed, they were brought immediately. Our cabin, on the lowest part of boat, was fine. We never heard anything during the nights when they were passing through one of the 14 locks.
I think this may have been almost the best village we stopped at. The houses were fun, but the tour guide was great.
Enjoyed the gorgous Cathedral.
