Malcolm 'Woo Hoo' Burn ... Doing his Thing ...
MALCOLM 'Woo Hoo' BURN (Carnival Freedom Cruise Director)

My wife and i just returned from an 8 day, 7 night cruise aboard the carnival freedom out of galveston, texas. We traveled to ocho rios, jamaica; grand cayman and cozumel. We have been on several cruises, including alaska, and we must say that this cruise had more fun aboard than any cruise we have been on. Their cruise director, malcolm 'woo hoo' burn has more fun on his job than anyone we have seen on any job. He is awesome right from his early morning show, with the wake up rooster, all the way through the late night entertainment. Malcolm gets everyone going and involved, and they love it ... From kids to adults, and even the laid back seniors ... They are all excited. He is funny, humorous, quick witted, entertaining and just great to be around. You can't help but smile whenever you see him. The carnival freedom playlist production cast is the most talented staff we have ever seen ... Anywhere. Their singing is perfection at it's finest and their routines are amazing as their performances and stage settings are and will leave you awestruck with goosebumps all over. Not just one of them ... But all of them would become a star in their own right ... By themselves, if they chose too. The carnival cruise line should feel very honored to have these people all on one ship ... The freedom.

The food aboard the freedom is by far better than any ship out there. The common area of eating, the lido (freedom restaurant) serves some of the best breakfasts you will ever have, and their dinners & late night, are awesomely delicious. We ate there a lot and enjoyed it all. We also ate at guys burger joint, which was open from noon to 6pm daily. They serve guy fieri burgers of different varieties, and i had them all. The bourbon and brown sugar one was my favorite. It's like actually having bourbon on your burger. They also have a toppings bar that you can add to this already deliciousness ... And it's not just a couple of items ... It's a lot. Their french fries are amazinglylicious. All very fresh and loaded with taste. The posh restaurant was our given dinner time place to eat and they were also very good. Lots of deliciousness here and their servers are awesome. Some of the most friendly and caring people. The maitre d' helped us adjust our dinner schedule to suit our needs. He is amazing and one very nice guy.

We also ate at the sun king steakhouse for our one evening of fanciness. This not only is a beautifully decorated steakhouse, but one of the best steaks ever. My wife had the filet mignon (9oz) and i had a 14oz new york sirloin. They were seasoned perfectly and were tender, tasty, juicy and delicious. We met the chef and he brought out a little tiny teensy burger on a bun as small, with lettuce, tiny tomato and sauces that were amazinglylicious. The sun king steakhouse now tops our list of best cruise line eateries we have been at.
