Sail Date: Dec 2017
Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

We have cruised with Norwegian about a dozen times over the past fifteen years, and this was by far the most disappointing cruise. The service quality, staff attitude, programming and overall experience have really taken a nosedive. Overall experience was akin to a Carnival cruise without the singing waiters: herded like cattle from event to event, from venue to venue, constantly working to get you to spend more money while on board. Our mini-suite could in any way comfortably house three adults. Truly awful service in the main dining rooms and only marginally better in the specialty dining rooms. Very ordinary talent in the shows, and overall weak entertainers particularly on New Years Eve. Truly unacceptable experience trying to get an elderly person in a wheelchair off the ship at ports, with most elevators locked. The man-made NCL island in Belize is disappointing, and is in no way comparable to the former port and excursions in Belize City. The port in Guatemala is a container depot with one flea market that specializes in counterfeit designer goods. The cruise port in Cozumel is a multi-level shopping mall that was true chaos with six ships in port at the same time. Throw in the aggravation and time from some outright fraud wherein we purchased bottled water and an internet package ahead of time, only to find no record of either on board. The Guests Services staff, whom I visited every day for the first half of the cruise, are the worst I have ever experienced. At least they allowed me to make a free phone call to my credit card company to contest the fraudulent charges. You get what you pay for.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

The mini-suite cannot accomodate three adults. The third bed is a camping foam mattress on top of a plank of plywood, on top of a folded sofa.

Port Reviews

Harvest Caye

NCL's manmade island is a real disappointment, and in no way compares to the former port in Belize City. Impressive engineering to get it built in less than two years.

Santo Tomas de Castilla

The port is a container depot. An adjacent flea market specializes in counterfeit goods.
