We choose this ship because it was based out of SF and we could drive down. That was perfect but that's where it ended. Princess was our very first cruise in 2002 on the same route, so we could compare some. We found this ship, now 20 yr old to be so awkward., boarding on pathetic. While it was "refurnished" recently, it could not hide that it is a very old ship by most standards. But it was worse than that. The schedule was poorly done. You could get to dinner but not a show! So many people did not dress up for formal nights. The food at the buffet esp breakfast was enough to gag on! Dinner meals in the dining hall was OK, but nothing special.
The stateroom, although small, was OK for our belongings. Bed was comfortable enough.
entertainment was a mix, but in general the evening shows were pretty good, if you could get a seat in the theater, which was very small compared to most. If you did not get there half hr early, forget it!
For being such an old ship the cabin was OK. The bathroom was way too dark and shower was small. Storage was adequate and surprisingly, there were enough hangers and hanging space! Bed was average for comfort but I was a bit concerned they did not change the sheets in 10 days and the duvets we saw were not changed between cruises!
TV was small and channels limited. Movies were also limited, altho they did have some newer ones playing. A/C in this old ship made our room VERY noisy and it took us a few days to get used to the constant hum.
Even tho we had a partially obstructive view, we had plenty of sunlight coming in.
