Embarkation very good and quick.
Luggage arrival was within an hour .
And No Lifejackets to Muster drill

Good Stateroom, if you like wake view , which we do, balcony smaller than other suites but still room for large table two chairs and two sun lounges, did have a support beam in front of part of window next to the bed ( 500mm wide ) but a big saving ( $2000 ) from the suite nextdoor C748 which stay in last cruise.

easy to walk to most places, can be very hilly some streets west of city centre have hand rails

Small town about 700pop nice walk along foreshore small lighthouse built 1880 entry $2.50 quite a few shops and places to eat

Lovely seaside town excellent walking round mount maunganui. also ship ot dock right in town
Gisborne
has gone down hill since last visit lots of shop empty, New Zealand shortest river 1200m

Free bus into city plenty to see and do on foot
opposite the beehive ( government house ) is new Zealand's grandest wooden building ( it is open to public weekdays )
