This ship has seen better days.At slower speeds the entire ship would rumble from the engine. The food was plentiful but at best average in taste. Service was not as individualize as on my previous cruises with Celebrity. even after 10 days at the same restaurant i was asked my name and room number. Attention to detail was missing, on several occasions there were misprints in the daily schedule and when I voiced my concern the staff gave me the impression they had much bigger things to take care of. For instance, they had a house band the "Sound stars' that played good dancing music and when we arrived at the scheduled time an entirely different event was occurring. The activity director did herself no favors by referring to my wife( who is twice her age) as "darling" in a semi-mocking tone. The remote for our TV worked about half the time and the replacement was no better. We went to the Card Room and they didn't have pegs for the cribbage board. The photographers became increasingly annoying as the cruise progressed, constantly interrupting us with "Are you ready for your picture yet?" There was a day of scenic cruising through the fjords of South New Zealand and we were blessed with seeing an enormous pod of dolphins and the moment was marred by there frequent interruptions.
On the positive side, we had no problem embarking in Melbourne, even though the cruise started in Sydney. Our cabin stewart tried his best to provide good service and went out of his way obtain some items for us. Excursions were generally well organized, although we did get left out on the pier for 30 minutes once when a bus broke down, but this was out of Celebrity's control. Many of the evening activities such as battle of the sexes were good fun and the 2 women that hosted them made everyone feel welcome, and seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves.
Standard cabin wth Balcony. Balcony furniture was worn and could have used some revarnishing. Remote wasn't great. Overall OK
