I've been cruising on Royal Caribbean for 25 years and am a Diamond member. Until I realized I had left my jewelry and a camera in my suite I thought this was the best cruise I'd had in 15 years. The new menu was terrific and the improvement in the food was noticeable. The staff worked well together and everything went smoothly. We were treated well in all venues, and had a great time. However, all my good feelings about the cruise have been overtaken by my despair at losing my jewelry and camera.
As I was unpacking on Monday, January 29, I realized I had left my jewelry in my suite, on the shelf below the safe. I had a friend who stayed on the ship to cruise the following week and she had the same cabin steward we had. I contacted her and she asked our cabin steward, Sandy, if he had found my jewelry. He said he had found it, turned it into housekeeping's lost and found and it would be sent to Miami. He suggested we contact customer service to arrange getting it back.
We called Royal Carribean and they said we had to file our claim on a 3rd party site, Chargerback. We completed a claim on the site, and began waiting. After 3 days we got an email saying they were investigating and would either return it in 30 days or close the case.
Cabin was great and well maintained. Too bad I left my jewelry in it.
