Sail Date: Dec 2017

We chose this cruise because it covered the Christmas and New Year period. We have never cruised at this time of the year before, so we were looking forward to a new and interesting experience.

The vessel has had something of a 'makeover', but some of the areas looked and felt very dated. Seating in some lounge areas was so dated and so low, that guests with any kind of mobility issues had problems descending and ascending into and out of them.

At the first evening meal, soup was served cold and had to be returned. On other occasions, wrong dishes were served, sometimes with items that, for dietary reasons, had been requested NOT to be served - eg. Lemon slices for a 'non-acidic' guest - and frequently, 30 minutes+ between courses.

Cabin Review

Cabin Sea View

Cabins were quite comfortable, but sadly, we had a soaking wet carpet in ours, which eventually necessitated a move. The 2nd cabin was identical, but was found to have a faulty shower, not responsive to the controls, and had to be replaced following a painful scald.
