Decided to give cruising another go after a disappointing experience a few years ago and were pleased we did. We have wanted to visit the Caribbean for some time and this seemed a great way to get a flavour of what is on offer. It is worth mentioning that we were advised that P&O was very much British with understated decor and a traditional feel to the cruise.
This is what we got.
At time of booking (which was at short notice) advised that flights to/return from our local airport not available so booked further afield. However with help of travel agent managed to secure flights out and via flight coordinator on board ship secured flights back. Since seats were available P&O need to look at this - hassle unnecessary. However saying goodbye to our luggage at the airport and it arriving at our cabin (and in reverse going home) as well as how well customs checks etc organised was brilliant.
Was of a decent size and well laid out. Appreciated how the dressing area and bathroom were sectioned off without feeling cramped. Space to store suitcases. Bed was comfortable, a pillow menu would have been nice.
Cabin steward was excellent.
Nice touches with tea & coffee, canapes, bathrobe and slippers and binoculars.
found a local restaurant and chilled with beer and crab wontons - amazing.
Locals were very pushy - but is that because the are desperate? Not comfortable for me.
Loved the craft market on the quayside. Nice to see lots of locally produced goods instead of cheap imports.
