We cruised frequently on NCL when we first retired and after 2 very poor trips, we switched to another line. Soon after Christmas this year, we got an e-mail for past-cruisers (Latitude members) on NCL. The advertised cruises had great perks and prices.Too good to pass up! I booked on- line at the lowest price offered for an inside cabin (for my husband and self) and paid in full. When I received my reservation, there was no mention of any of the perks. I called and was told that I had booked a "Sail Away" rate. What is that, I asked? I was told that basically, it was the lowest advertised price and that no perks came with it! Why then had it been advertised with the perks???? Finally, I was told that we would receive double Latitute points and up to $100.00 credit to use on board, but not the beverage package. As we are not drinkers, I was OK with that. A few weeks later, we upgraded our inside to a large window cabin with the understanding that we still received the same perks as before-points and credit. -By the time we boarded, I still had no documentation of any perks. I went to Customer Service where they assured me that my lowly status did not include any perks and that there were NEVER any promotions for past-cruisers. I showed the copy I had made of the on-line offer, which made no mention of "Sail Away" or that some categories did not include the perks . They said that it was not their fault, that the marketing department was to blame, that were NO perks offered with our cruise and that I should go and to the Latitudes Desk. The Latitudes Desk told me they didn't know anything about it! When we got to our cabin we found towels for only 1 person, no toilet paper, and the refrigerator was locked! (As Latitude members, we were to have a free welcome bottle of wine in the cabin - there was none.A cabin stewart was not to be found and did not answer the phone. We called the desk- they said we had to "register" for the wine and that they would "try to locate" our steward. The next day, we got toilet paper and towels and the bottle of wine, but the refrig remained locked and there was no ice. We left a note for the Stewart and had ice that evening. ( The refrigerator remained locked until the 4th day! and ice arrived sometime in the afternoon and was always melted by evening!)

Before leaving home, we had called and asked if reservations were needed for dinner. Although not necessary, we were told " they might be good to have". We made them for all 10 nights of the cruise. The first night, upon arriving at the restaurant, we were told we did not have reservations. I showed them my confirmed reservation list and was told that "It is not in the system, we will try to seat you soon (1/2 hour wait) but you need to check at the customer service desk in the morning" Next morning brought the same answer- they could not find us in the "System" We could not re-make the same reservations as they were now "full" at the times we had wanted! The ship is lovely, the itinerary and weather were great, but few of the crew seemed to know what they were doing! We will not sail NCL again.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Picture Window

Adequate for us as we were rarely in it except to sleep. It was serviced daily, but as small pieces of paper etc. were never vacuumed up.
