We went with the Escape on the advice of our travel agent, our previous experiences were with RCCL. I will try to be as thorough as possible.

We stayed the night before at Hampton Inn East at Mia Int Airport, Returned our car to Alamo in the morning and took the free Alamo shuttle to the Port, We had a registration time slot of 930 to 10 am. We arrived at 915 or so And got in line behind about 50 other people. Security did not start screening until 1000 or so, After that the check went smooth, Only complaint here is that I think they should inform everyone of the mandatory drill as many people were not even headed to it as the were drinking or sleeping up top, Safety drill seemed to take a long time.

We were able to access our cabin around 2 pm, While putting away our items we found a few unopened waters and a bottle of champagne left from previous cruisers, This leads me to believe there was not a very good cleaning but the room seemed clean other than that. We were in 10842 a BB midship balcony with the angled balcony as we were at the start of the bump out giving us a little extra room which was nice. Really missed the towel animals the first two days {wanted to take pics for grandkids} had to ask for them, also had to ask to have ice kept in the room, which was not done, It would be filled in the morning then melt and not be refilled till the next morning. Other than that Our steward was on OK fella.
