First the good, then the “OMGoodness, what a mess both for embarkation and disembarkation”, see last paragraph below who/what I blame fully for the mess.
The itinerary — this western Caribbean cruise went to places we had not yet been to visit Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, Harvest Caye, which when coupled with the ocean view price that included perks for booking made this cruise very attractive—- and of course, escape from the cold and :-)
The staff — room attendant (Abdulloh), restaurant wait staff in the Aqua, Vintages, and O’Sheehans, guest services, waiters, bartenders, and bus staff at all the bars and bar/grills including those based at Topsiders and Bimini (pool) and in the casino were very attentive and good at their jobs. They work very hard and work long days and shifts — and still smile after 8 months without a single day off!
Cleanliness — The ship was very clean including all eating and public areas.
The food —in the two sit down restaurants (Vintages all meals, Aqua, supper only) and at Cagney’s was good; diverse food selection for different tastes and food preferences. We did not eat in the buffet but walking through— meh, the salad fixings, meh, the burgers made and put out, meh, the variety, meh and etc. So ate at the sit down restaurants except for embarkation. Really liked having O’Sheehans open early, quick and fast service though definitely a more limited, pub style menu than Vintages, on excursion days.
Entertainment —The ensemble bands and other musicians were good and joyed having bands around the pool.
Shore excursions — favourite was the Cozumel Fury snorkelling and beach excursion: terrific staff aboard, safety conscious, had great weather, lots of fun, definitely would do it again.
Embarkation and Disembarkation —— what a mess! In the past two years we have sailed on NCL and on another cruise line out of Tampa, so I know it is not the cruise line but the port authority, and honestly sailing out of Tampa is now a big ‘if I have to, I will”. Three of the four embarkation/disembarkation experiences were over an hour wait in line either on the ship after being called or in the port authority waiting for escalators and getting through security/customs and as for embarkation, well, the line up was around the corner and almost as far as Hooters at the end of the block. Luckily we were on the ship before the rain started. Ridiculous, and fully blame the Tampa Port Authority!

BeachWent and left early. Plastic floating in the water, so not interested in going into the ocean to swim.View All 339 Beach Reviews
Went back to the pier and found that the market had a free pool with lounge chairs and with restaurants and shops surrounding it, stayed a while and enjoyed the swim
Catamaran TourPales in comparison with quality of the Fury Catamaran tour in Cozumel, however, if you want to climb Dunn’s River Falls and want to do get there by sea approach rather than by land this is a good choice.View All 19 Catamaran Tour Reviews
