Sail Date: Jan 2018
Cabin: Obstructed Oceanview

We cruised on the Dawn out of Tampa in 2014 and had a wonderful time. It was probably one of the 3 best cruises we had been on. This time was not so wonderful.

THE GOOD:

Updated ship - New carpet and flooring all around, re-designed common areas. The reception area looks great, O'Sheehans was a great addition!

Cabin Review

Obstructed Oceanview

Cabin OK

We were travelling with my wife's handicap father. We had a OK Handicap category room. It was large enough for him to get his power scooter in an out but it left little room for us to walk around the room. The bathroom was spacious which was nice. Unfortunately the water temperature was VERY difficult to control and we got scorched many times. The in room help buttons were in very inconvenient locations and we hit them by accident constantly. The TV was large and easy to control. It was convenient for making dinner reservations. Storage for clothing was enough for 2 persons at most. This room will hold 4 but don't pack much!!! The obstructed view was not bad. We were looking over the top of a life boat. However we had a full view of the ocean, just not immediately below us. The A/C had to be kept on high in order for the room not to be hot. If you like to sleep in cool crisp air this is not a cabin for you. Only two power outlets and the one in the bathroom was very difficult to plug into. The plugs just kept falling out. Lighting was good but one of the recessed ceiling lights did not work. The safe was like any other, not big enough. It was easy to operate.
