We are retirees in our late sixties. This is our 3rd cruise to Hawaii and our first from LA. Transfer and embarkation went smoothly although boarding began late. We had a nice lunch in Portofino’s and our luggage was in the room after lunch. One of the things we were looking forward to in the refurbishing of the ship was the new mattress. Ours was way too soft and we immediately asked for.it to be made firmer. We still had some mornings with backaches. We found the food in the Club Class to be consistently delicious, dinner in the Crown Grill and Sabatinis to be excellent and worth the up charge. We had very rough seas with 18 ft swells crossing to Hawaii and more could have been done with all the seasick passengers. Sick bags didn’t appear until the early evening after a long day of rocking and rolling. The new setup in the Horizon Buffet where the silverware is rolled and in containers is a great idea. It keeps people from touching silver setups when they are just hanging in that area.

We took no excursions since we have done most previously. We had excellent service and I would say the staff/ crew were a plus on this cruise.

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite with Balcony

Cabin S4

Bed too soft. No TV guide to programming. Wonderful balcony. Quiet with a private entrance. At the very back of the ship and took the brunt of the rough seas. Also, a little smaller than most suites although it was cozy.
