Sail Date: Jan 2018
Cabin: Aft-View Extended Balcony

We were a party of 12 adults for the January 20th eastern Caribbean sailing.

Embarkation at the Miami cruise port was fairly effortless, with only a minor congestion at the bag drop off area and at the entry/x-ray point. Otherwise we walked right onto the ship. Most of us were first time cruisers and we were pleasantly surprised at the size and cleanliness of the ship overall. We boarded the ship around 12:30 and our rooms were ready by 1:30. Elevators were quick and the wait was minimal most of the time.

We had 3 inside cabins, an Aft-extended balcony cabin and a regular balcony cabin in our group, all on deck 7 Empress. Most rooms were near the aft end of the ship and the aft elevators. Each cabin was spotless and comfortable in size. Our room attendants were collectively wonderful, with a special mention for "Putu" who went above and beyond for us.

Cabin Review

Aft-View Extended Balcony

Cabin 8N

The seas were very rough on this trip, and a few in our group got sick at one time or another. Guest services gave out free medication for that, which was a nice touch. Our aft-extended balcony cabin bounced and shifted and vibrated like crazy most days and nights. The deck itself was great, with minimal wind. Privacy was not as good on the aft balcony because of the sloping of the ship, but the regular balcony room had nice privacy. All cabins had good sized restrooms and great water pressure in the showers. Lots of storage shelves in the bathrooms too. We never needed an over-the-door shoe rack to hold anything (as many cruisers have suggested) and there were three women in my cabin.
