Sail Date: Jan 2018
Cabin: Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony
Plenty of room for swimming or just relaxing in the sun on the pool deck.
The promenade deck with shops, cafes and bars.
Some of the 14 levels accessed by these glass lifts.

This was our first cruise and wanted to select a quality cruise line that was short to moderate in length. We chose Royal Caribbean based on the recommendation of at family member.

We found the ship to be impressive in size and fitout. Our balcony stateroom on level 6, mid ships, was clean and roomy supported by our attentive and friendly room attendant who left innovative and funny characters made from towels each night.

The main dining room, Saphire, was as good as any fine dining, five star restaurant I have ever been to with the service from the waiters the outstanding feature. Nothing was too hard for them and all our requested were filled. The buffet dining in Windjammer was excellent with the widest range of quality foods available. Again the staff were very helpful with clearing our table quickly or even delivering a coffee.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

The balcony was worth the small extra as it added additional room and the opportunity to view both the open sea and the coastline. As you would expect the rooms are not huge but are sufficient in size with a king size bed (that can be separated into two) with room to walk around it, adequate drawer and hanging space (take extra hangers) and a two seater lounge to relax in front of the TV. The bathroom had space either side of the basin for toiletries as well as a shelf underneath. The shower was circular in shape with doors rather than a curtin but the water flow was great providing a good bathing experience.

Port Reviews

Noumea

It was a rainy day so we explored the city but you need to be aware that it is not a major tourist attraction. The economy is funded from France and is evident in the state of the buildings and surrounds that may not be as you would expect. An interesting place to visit.

Mystery Island

The island is not inhabited with the locals visiting there to support the tourists as they arrive. A beautiful and typical pacific island with sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters.

Port Vila

Again a rainy day with some heavy tropical downpours hampered our movement but an interesting location. A highlight was the duty free shopping, especially alcohol as it was extreamly low cost.

Lautoka

We found little to see of interest around town however there were other sites if you travelled for 30 mins or mor.
