This cruise replaced my cruise out of San Juan that was canceled due to the hurricanes. I am a 74 y.o. female, frequent cruiser, traveling alone. I was very disappointed in the food and the service in the dining room and on the Lido deck. Food was served cold, small portions, tables not clean on the Lido deck buffets, and I had a couple of waiters in the dining room that forced another table mate to rely on the maitre 'd to resolve her problems. I had a comment made to me when I ordered 2 entrees because they were very small. My crab cake the last night as an appetizer was about the size of silver dollar and was served on cole slaw!! It looked burned. I actually told several first time cruisers not to rate Carnival on the basis of this ship. Carnival usually has excellent service and sufficient amounts of food, buffet tables are clean, etc. Anika, the assistant waiter, worked her butt off; she carried the heavy trays of food and made sure we had water and bread. My room steward also was first class.
Don't recall the cabin category but it was a 4. I was just forward of the Atrium on deck 6. This deck is above the 3 decks given to entertainment, shopping, gambling, restaurants etc.
The cabin is the usual and as I was traveling alone, it was all I needed.
