We had previously sailed on NCL to Alaska 2 years ago on the Jewel and had such a good experience we decided to try them again. I was not as impressed as I think I was supposed to be with the Epic, if that makes sense. The layout of not just the cabins but the ship itself at times was confusing and didn't flow well. While we enjoyed the entertainment, it seemed that some shows were held in too-small spaces for the amount of guests on the ship. The service overall was good, and our room steward Assit did a wonderful job and was always cheerful.
The food was great in La Cucina and Cagney's and good in the main dining room Taste. The buffett was "eh" as was O'Sheehan's (which I thought was great on the Jewel).
The pool area was good, and we would've enjoyed Spice H2O better had they had some umbrellas or partial shade available.
The cabin was fine, though I'm not a fan of the curved layout and bathroom situation. I would not have liked to have had the bed right next to the toilet/shower area, so we were fortunate to have ours closer to the very nice sized balcony. The shower was WONDERFUL - good size, great pressure and always hot water. Other than for storage in the back of the sofa, I think the sofa took up too much space in the cabin.
