Have previous positive cruises with Viking - river and ocean. Everything went smooth and the cruise was very enjoyable! However, the diappointing part of the trip was that due to rough seas - we were unable to go to the port of Portico, Portugal, and Viking NEVER offered to stop at another port or offer any type of reimbursement, future discount, or complintary gift from the region as a consolitory gift for not being able to visit that port.

I would travel with Viking again in the future as this was our 3rd Viking cruise. It would be nice to have a variety of entertainment as on the river cruises with local talent (i.e., Fago singers - were FABULOUS), but having the same lecturers and lounge singers on the entire cruise - got old, fast, and the musical shows were very old (i.e., Beatles music, etc.) - need more modern alternatives for the younger cruisers.

As far as service and dining it was exceptional!! And, words cannot describe the shore excursions and Rob, the Shore Excursion Director - he went above and beyond in any and every possible way to get not only my husband and I, but other passengers as well the experience we were all seeking - he and his staff provided SUPERB customer service - he and his staff is what makes Viking the superior cruise line!!

Cabin Review

Wonderful for the size - excellent/maximum use of minimal space - bathroom was modern and beautiful! The veranda was excellent - spent a lot of time on it while @ sea - beautiful to relax on, read journal, and just to take in the beauty of the sea.
