Emerald Princess Cruise Review by Twinkle49
- Sail Date: January 2018
- Destination: South America
- Cabin Type: Balcony
The destination was fantastic and truly the trip of a lifetime, but the ship was terribly overcrowded with very little available seating in the public areas. It was next to impossible to eat at the Horizon Court Buffet, because you could never find a seat. Food in both the buffet and the dining room was average, but the International Cafe shone in this regard. Shore excursions were disorganized, and embarkation was a bit haphazard. The ports were great, and although the excursions were expensive, they were overall good. Most of the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The entertainment on board was excellent, especially the professional tango dancers from Buenos Aires, and there was enough variety in activities. At least a third of the fitness equipment on any given day was out of order. The showers in the spa were out of shower gel most of the time, and the water was scalding at times. Overall we enjoyed the cruise, but it was definitely not up to the standards I've come to expect with Princess.
